Säkaphen GmbH and the mystery of the damaged tube bundle.
We have posted the above entry in the hope that perhaps someone has had a similar situation with Sakaphen GmbH and will tell us whether this company has finally taken responsibility and, if not, what solution has been applied? We have to replace 15 u-tubes and redo pressure test, technical inspection (documentation included), coating (at a competitor to Sakaphen GmbH probably – do you know any?) again.
We would like to apologize to our client, Orlen, for the delay in the delivery of the ordered u-tube bundle. However, the reason for this delay is beyond our control. As the requirement of the order was to protect the internal surfaces of the tube bundle with a specific SÄKAPHEN Si 57 E lining, we ordered this service from
the manufacturer of this lining: SÄKAPHEN GmbH.
We also ordered, for additional cost, mounting of a support shell / rotating ring needed to rotate
the tube bundle during the coating process.
After the coating was performed, SÄKAPHEN GmbH did not inform us about any damage.
When the tube bundle unpacked in our premises, we noticed critical damage to the tubes at the top of
the bends and near the baffles where the rotation ring had been attached. Additionally, we noticed that some pipes were covered with welding spatter. The damages require the replacement of the damaged pipes.
We submitted a complaint to SÄKAPHEN GmbH. SÄKAPHEN GmbH however haven’t wanted to take any responsibility for the damage caused. Among others we have received such a response from the company’s CEO: „The warranty does not, and cannot, cover any alleged mechanical defects which do not fall under our scope of work”.SÄKAPHEN GmbH provided us with a “suggested solution“: „We have a special putty that can be used to level out holes, pitting, quirks and… in the metal substrate (components). In your case, you could apply this putty to the spots you indicated to level the pipes on theirs outside”.
I recommend every (potential) customer of SÄKAPHEN GmbH to take the above information into consideration.

With the continued development of our company, which has mainly involved

EN 15085-2 Certification
Developing its new range of activities – special structures – Polimer has completed certification in “Welding of railway vehicles and components” according to EN 15085-2, in the field of application “Manufacturing of new assemblies and components for railway vehicles”. Certification level CL1.

ISO 14001 & 45001 certification
Polimer has successfully completed the certification procedure confirming the application of an Integrated Management System and compliance with the requirements of PN-EN ISO 14001:2015 and PN-ISO 45001:2018 for the design, manufacturing and assembly of pressure equipment, steel installations and constructions and the nondestructive testing of welds in the NDT laboratory.
